From animals to animations - Lieven Van Parys (NL)

Attending the etwinning workshop in Slovakia gave us an opportunity to meet other etwinners, but for me the highlight of the PDW were the workshops held at the local University. Here we had the opportunity to attend 3 different workshops.

The one that I really enjoyed was the one where the presenter made use of the program Tux Paint. This software is available on the internet - http://www.tuxpaint.org/download/

This is a freeware and has many features that can be used to do several animations. My children at school love to use this program as in carries a wide range of stamps and colouring effects.

During this workshop we had to create animals made of chenille (= kind of 'soft and colourful wire'). These 'creatures' could then be converted into rubber stamps that could be used in this very simple (but fantastic) free drawing and painting program for children: 'Tux Paint'. http://www.sintamandusmeulebeke.be/zooproject/zoo.htm

Another program that was used during this workshop was Pivot Stickfigure Animator - http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/Pivot_Stickfigure_Animator/stickfigure.html

This program helped us create stick figure that can be used as bmp in the Tux Paint program examples of thes cabn be seen here - http://www.sintamandusmeulebeke.be/animations/aniandmate.htm

Mr Lieven Van Parys from the Netherlands was the person in charge of the presentation and the projects where these programs were used are listed at the following site.
